"This spectacular speciman of Eastern Black Walnut (Juglans nigra) was surgically removed from a yard in Framingham, MA as a result of it's size and proximity to the home. Notice the strong, wide crotch bordering on obtuse in angle--a treasure surely hides within. And the ribbed appearance of the bone white sapwood along its length makes a strong suggestion of curl hidden beneath its suface.
This tree was felled and the major logs transported, debarked, end-treated, and reserved keeping open the various options available in terms of milling, inluding consideration of a final disposition as veneer.
